Antique Gold Brass & Black Glass Decorative Frame with Glass & Painting of a Boy
Has color hand-painted child's carte de visite (CDV) portrait in an oval shaped black matte built into the frame with ornate trim, under glass. The portrait may have once been a photo that has been hand painted with gouache. The original photograph painting in the frame was done in Washington DC & is estimated to be done circa 1860. Boy is seated on a beautiful ornate red & gold chair with a large window landscape in the background & a plaid blue floor. Preserved in the original frame.
Approximate outer dimensions are 7” x 9”. Frame can be hung or stood up on a table or desk. Velvet backing.
