W. B. Dub Franklin was born December 8, 1933 in Midland to William Buck and Etta Lee Franklin. He was reared and educated in Midland, Texas, and graduated in 1951 from Midland High School. He was a draftsman for Getty Oil from 1952-1974. He and his wife owned Alicea Art Gallery. Dub was a well-known landscape artist, with paintings in the White House, numerous Governor's mansions, and other well known business and homes. Dub passed January 8, 2001.
